Players Music Review-kisstudou

Music Neeraj Shridhar opening a soundtrack for Pritam is never amiss. If Jis Jagah Pe Khatam doesnt do it for you, the remix of it will theres no denying its moves on the dance floor from electronic synth sounds to hip-hop underlined by techno riffs and a chorus high on adrenaline. Kyon Dooriyan sung by Ritu Pathak falls one notch short of Guzaarishs feisty Udi, which it shares a gypsy heart with the passion from her refrain jhoom jhoom jhoom ta tu jaa lacks that blazing spirit this sensuous number requires a sharp twang between shrill and melody that Sunidhi Chauhan brought to Udi. Ritu and Pritam are perhaps underplaying the potential of this fire-cracking number in the female version, where in the male version by Siddharth Basrur the track kicks up a storm the way Atif Aslams Tere Liye (Prince) almost sold the film to us with its catchy hook, lines and singer. Arijit Singh grits, bumps and grinds a little more on his techno version of the same song. Yashita Yashpals Ho Gayi Tun is weird. What is it? Run away; skip this out of tune dhun. Buddhi Do Bhagwaan you would think after the last track which is just about as mis-managed as this one is arranged to dwindle between a shloka and a tequila shot some scatterbrain is sitting on this revue. The other singer who has struck a chord with Pritam is Mohit Chauhan present here for Dil Ye Bekaraar in the mien of their previous collaborations swell with breezy romantic pining. Shreya Ghoshal saunters in mid way to complete this duet sung in an Elysian field. Ah, love that pristine feeling fresh as laundered sheets. Remixes, reprises galore the score keeps you busy as does Pritams return to the dance floor after a melodious turn in Mausamwhich was let down by the film’s lack lustre box office returns. Between Arijit Singh and Siddharth Basrur lets just bounce this Players soundtrack back and forth for a bit, its going for gold right away. Directed by the ‘men-in-white’ Abbas-Mustan,Playersis yet another action-thriller, which is director duo’s favouite genre.
